Inside Laid Out

We carry handmade self-portraits in our pockets. Everyday a new element is either integrated or removed, feeding this ongoing process of self-construction. From candy wrappers, tissue paper and movie stubs, to credit cards, cash, pictures and photo IDs.

They are life stories in a nutshell.

The project is organized in three sections:

  1. Keychains

  2. Pockets

  3. Wallets.

Eighteen individuals were chosen to illustrate this idea, each one in their own unique manner. They are the Inside Laid Out case studies.

The compilation seeks to explore our identities through seemingly banal objects of our everyday life, taking a closer look at ourselves from an uncommon and aesthetic point of view.
